Build Events

Design, build, and compete with hands-on engineering projects

Benefits of Joining the Team

Why Join Build Events?

  • You get to work on building cool stuff with your friends
  • Gain valuable skills in math, engineering, and design
  • You'll work closely with your teammates to complete a larger project

2025 Build Events

Air Trajectory

Prior to the competition, teams design, construct, and calibrate a device capable of launching projectiles onto a target.

Electric Vehicle

Teams design, build, and test a vehicle that uses electrical energy as its sole means of propulsion.

Helicopter

Teams construct and test free flight rubber-powered helicopters prior to the tournament to achieve maximum flight time.

Robot Tour

Teams design, build, and program an autonomous robot that navigates through a course to complete various tasks.

Tower

Teams design and build a tower to achieve the highest structural efficiency using only wood and approved adhesives.

Bungee Drop

Teams construct a device to determine the position to attach a bungee cord to drop a mass as close as possible to the ground.

Wind Power

Teams design, build, and test a blade assembly that fits a provided generator to convert wind into electrical power.
